Middlesex 7’s Bowl Competition

Richmond Athletic Ground - Sunday 30^th April 2006

On Sunday 30^th April Harlow RFC entered a Team for the above Competition.

The squad was arranged by Simon Vanbeck (Cap) and Matthew Howard. (Vice Cap)

The teams in Harlow’s Group were Hammersmith - Fulham, Vauxhall and Twickenham.

Harlow won the games against Twickenham, Hammersmith - Fulham but with a loss in the final game against Vauxhall.

There was a possibility that Harlow might have been entered into the Quarter-Finals as one of the top two losing teams on point’s difference, but this was not to be and we were beaten by just 7 points.

In the final game against Vauxhall Martin Mallia sustained a very bad ankle injury that required hospital treatment. The initial diagnosis was that the injury was severe ligament damage, but this is being re-assessed on Tuesday.

As the team had not played together before, they performed exceptionally well with some outstanding tries.

The squad was, Simon Vanbeck, Matthew Howard, Martin Mallia, Tommy Johnson,

Sean Banks, James McFerran, Neil Fitzpatrick, Darren Hawkins, Mark Pickett, and Gareth Powell.
