Harlow played well in the first twenty minutes and took the game to Sudbury who were surprised by the spirit and passion which the Harlow players showed.
The Rams should have made more of their early chances but indiscipline allowed Sudbury to clear their lines and then to take three points from a penalty . Harlow again worked hard to get into Sudbury territory and were awarded a penalty which was unfortunately missed.
More pressure from Harlow was defended by Sudbury who broke out on the 30th minute and outside centre Mark Bolton scored a try which he converted himself. Five minutes later the visitors were finally rewarded for their efforts when wing Rob Mackie intercepted a stray pass and sprinted for the line. Michael Dobson converted to leave the half time score at 7-10.
Harlow missed another penalty at the beginning of the second half and Sudbury struck again within five minutes ,Bolton again doing the damage. Outside centre Luke Bowering was replaced by Will Grimley. Five minutes later Harlow were hit by a yellow card for James McFerran although Sudbury missed the resultant penalty. Prop Marc Williams was then replaced by Matt Branch and within minutes the Rams scored again.  It was another intercepted pass which Francis Brown picked up and ran in under the posts, Dobson making no mistake with the conversion.
The Harlow challenge faded in the last quarter of the match and Sudbury ran in tries from Richard Stephen ,Scrum half, and sub. Tom Keeling. With two conversions and a late penalty the final score line rather flattered the home side .
Next Saturday Harlow host top of the table Thurrock and will need to raise their game. It is hoped that some of the five or six first team players who are injured will be back in contention for a place.
