Croydon 7's

Harlow Seconds and Thirds at Croydon Sevens

The seconds and thirds went to their 2nd annual Streatham Croydon RFC Sevens Tournament for their end of season send off.  The seconds fielded two teams one of which finished third and the other 5.  The third team finished 9th out of ten teams.

Despite having handicaps of 20 points on most teams the seconds A team managed to win 3 of their four matches, their best performance was a 27-5 win over the hosts first team.  However they lost their last match against the Pink Panthers 17-7, the eventual winners of the tournament.

The seconds B team also performed admirably winning 2 of the four matches and drawing one.  The match that they lost was also to the eventual finalists.

Unfortunately the thirds lost every match in an extremely tough group which included the winners and Harlow Seconds A team but played the games with great spirit to epitomize what was a great day for all involved and a fantastic way to finish what has been a great season for all involved with the second and third teams.

This season Harlow have regularly managed to field four teams and the senior section continues to grow with players returning after some seasons out of the game and new players starting. The club have been particularly pleased to see a few parents of junior members taking up the game, The seconds have had their best season for some years getting to the final of the Essex Cup and winning the Plate Competition in the BL Merit Table. All four teams would be delighted to welcome new players next season so get those boots dusted off!
