Woodford 5 Harlow 16 (To view more match reports - click here) BL Essex Merit Table Div I Harlow continued their progress towards the BL Merit Table title with another good win on Saturday; they are now in second place with two games in hand. This was despite having four key players called up for first team duty. Harlow started strongly and went ahead when Ian Bate scored a penalty about 10 minutes into the game. This was soon followed by a fantastic try from Dan Jones when he darted from his own 22 metre line to score pretty much under the posts. Ian Bate then converted. The 1st half was all Harlow traffic and Ian Bate slotted two more penalties. On the run of play and territory Harlow deserved more points. The 2nd half Harlow relaxed and allowed Woodford to get into the game. About 30 mins into the half Woodford applied loads of pressure and after a very good spell of Harlow defending they got their try. Team: Clark, Snell, Bayford, Hawkins, Palmer (Capt), Roberts, Lloyd, Hovel, Bate, Jones, Worthington, Polkinghorne, Perry, Mclarnon, Ward, King, Claridge Try: Jones. Conversion: Bate.
