Travelling to Chelmsford’s grounds for our 2nd merit game of the season we knew it would be an interesting game. With a very eager side we took to the field, from the off we had control of the ball with Matt getting the first try in 5 mins. The front row held the scrum together with Digga at loose Rhys Thacker hooker and Jay Brown at tight the 2nd row driving them forward Rob Kelly and Ken Smith helping to win most of the balls which helped keep the game at a pace we controlled through out the match. Chelmsford tried to take the ball to their backs but were no match for our boys who managed to turn them over and run it back at them with Carl subbing on for Wardy after an injury. He stepped on and made his mark from the off scoring straight away Dan Treamer worked well scoring 12 points from conversions for the team coming back from injury. New guy Wayne Bloomfield played 8 and was slipping the ball out to the backs sweetly for our boys to score again and again. In the 2nd half Chelmsford came out with a bit more fire in there belly but we soon put them to rest with Digga running the ball between the posts from their 40 yrd line. Lee Hodges coming of the bench put even more stability in the centres scoring also.
