Chelmsford 3rd XV 17 Harlow 3rd XV 31

Harlow welcomed Chelmsford's young side to Rams Gorse on Saturday and Harlow 3’s continued there scoring habit from the past few weeks with a  try within minutes of the kick off, Steve Ward drew his opposition and offload to centre Lee Hodges who broke 3 tackles to score under the posts.  This was then converted by returning fullback Lee Pike.

At 15 minutes into the game No:8 Kenny Smith stole the oppersition line-out ball to set up Gary George to crash through 2 tackles and pop the ball to Wayne Bloomfield to score and again coversion by Lee Pike.

20 Mins an injury to Chelmsford's Scrumhalf saw him carried off the pitch. 4 Minutes later Steve ward put Lee Hodges into space with a miss pass which saw Lee Hodges draw the winger to pass to Steve Seary who finished off with a score in the corner. Lee pike then had an amazing conversion  from the sideline straight through the centre of the posts.

Then half time changes included, Bret Halsey came off for Matt Treaves ( Bret has just returned after a year off with an ankle injury). The 2^nd half continued as the 1^st with Wayne Bloomfield scoring his 2^nd try of the match ( his 3^rd try in 2 matches) after a fantastic team play. Lee Pike then missed the conversion.

45 Mins, Lee Hodges came off due to a wrist injury and was replaced by Simon Jenna. The next 20 minutes saw Chelmsford climb back with 3 trys, which brought the score to 26-17. At 75 mins into the game Simon Jenna finished off a well worked backs try to put Harlow out of reach. Lee Pike sadly missed this conversion.

Final score 31-17.

This game saw a lot of x players return to the 3’s, and have excellent  games including a fantastic play by Lee Pike.

Harlow travel to Upminster Saturday 14^th March for another Merit game between the 2^nd and 3^rd in the league table.
