Merit Table
Harlow 3’s travelled to Upminster this Saturday for a crucial league match.
From the start it was an interesting match which saw Harlow 12-0 down within
10 minutes. At 20 minutes Harlow lock Mark Cowell was carried off with a
knee injury ( harlows 3rd knee injury in 3 weeks). But at 24 minutes Harlow
looked like they had pulled together with a well worked team try which saw
Mark Ellis make a break from his own half and offload to Adam Paine who’s
good hands moved the ball to James Banks who offloaded to Daniel Bolt who
scored in the corner bringing the score to 12-5, conversion missed.
On 27 minutes Upminsters powerfull pack hit back with a try in the corner
which took the score to 17-5. In the 2nd half Upminster followed up with 2
more try’s within 15 minutes through powerful forward play. 29-5. At 58
minutes Harlow’s openside was given a red card for allegedly swearing at the
young ref . However this seemed to kickstart Harlow into playing the great
rugby they have played throughout the season, when Harlow Colt Terry
Blackwell intercepted a poor placed pass to run the length of the pitch to
score in the 65th minute. Terry then added another to the scoreboard 5
minutes later where he broke from the 10 metre line to score in the corner.
Overall Harlow combated Upminster’s very strong pack well, but didn’t take
their chances.
