Letchworth 4th XV 10 Harlow 4th XV 32

Friendly

Harlow arrived at the club in fine mood as always, sorted out who was there & where we were going & off we went, for those of you who laugh at Mandys little yellow car AKA 'Daffers', you can fit  a driver, a no8, a fly half & a flanker plus one 23 week old american bulldog in it, surely this has to be a record or can it be beaten , you'll have to wait & see.
We arrived by convoy at letchworth & decamped to the changing room or should i say box, why is it rugby clubs have such small changing rooms when so many fine specimens of senior manhood turn up,

After finding out that letchworth had only 12 men, we decided to lend them  a few players,to make the game more interesting, so in the first half letchwoth had, Mark 'Rupert' Blackman & Lee' Pikey' Pike. From the kick off Harlow competed well & soon got down to good old fashioned rugby, you know , forwards go forward, & make a platform for the backs to run, & this is what we did, soon resulting with a try for Paul 'Swampy Bullen who crashed through the letchworth defence to cross the line with harlows first try.Harlow dominated the first half & soon Full Back Paul 'Slider' Crabb crossed the line after catching a letchworth clearance & running the ball back at them, Harlow were two tries up, but we all heard John Gagg from the sidelines shouting this seasons call of 'nil nil'.From the kick off harlow were again in the letchworth half & from broken play Harlow were on the attack, led by Swampy, who 2 metres from the line popped the ball up in the tackle to Jeff 'Auntie'Bessent who crashed through two second rows to score for harlow, (Of course by the time Auntie has told everyone about the try he will have run from his own 22 whilst beating 84 men , doing a switch move on his own & diving over to scorewhilst smiling for the camera & his fan club). Just prior to the end of the first half a great individual try from  Rob 'Bernard' Mathews where he caught the ball in one hand on our 10 metres & ran at the letchworth defence, chipped & chased the ball , caught it after the bounce to score for his first try of the season.
Half time Harlow 20 Letchworth 0
Harlow made a few changes in the second half, Adam 'Mex' Clark came off due to injury &  Gaggy came on  at flanker, Rupert was swopped over for John 'The Hammer' Harrison & Ben 'Wingco' came on for Barney & Barney went on to play for the opposition forwards ( More about this later) .Mark 'Have a drink of this' Wedd went off to play for the second team who were short of a few players, The second half saw Letchworth rally & after a quick tap & go their inside centre crashed over the line despite swampy's best effort to tackle him. Shortly afterwards, Crabb went on his own & scored under the posts for his second of the day, Which was converted by Justin (Not Sure) ?,  Letchworth hit back straight away & Harlow saw themselves camped out on their try line defending, Harlow defended well & broke out , but from the broken play letchworth hit back with another try from their inside centre to score, Everyone was feeling tired by now due to the weater conditions & the pace of the game, fortunately Crabby managed to find space & use his side step to good advantage & score a third try for his hat trick.
