Harlow 4th XV 14 Hatfield 2nd XV 14

Harlow 4th Team met up as usual at approx 12 Noonish, Singit was in trouble straight away for publicising his birthday & blocking his Girlfriend Claires car in at home, so aided by crabby he went to let her out. Kick off was at 2pm so plenty of time to discuss tactics or as it is also known talking rubbish. We were playing on ash tree so the long walk out was taken; Tracey (Physio/ first aid) was busy before the game even started, strapping hands & knees.

Harlow started well with the pack making their size known in the scrum by pushing the Hatfield pack of the ball, for the first 10 minutes it was Harlow all the way & this led to the ball being spun out from the breakdown where hiding amongst the backs our new stand in extra centre (Prop) Danny F linked up the Harlow Centre & smashed through onto the Hatfield winger who tried to stop him, but did not succeed, Danny unselfishly went into contact on the Fullback & off loaded to Brian who scored the first try for Harlow & his first try for the club. Not Converted. Harlow 5- Hatfield 0. The look on the face of the Hatfield fullback was priceless as Danny bore down on him.

Hatfield were again put under pressure from the restart as Harlow took the ball back at them again staying in the Hatfield half, Harlows next try came from Danny F when from a ruck the Justin passed the ball to Danny who from 22 at pace just mowed down the opposition with at one point 4 Hatfield players hanging off him to Score, near the posts. Again from the restart the Harlow pack went to work & at this point it seemed that the Hatfield pack could not handle the ferocity of Harlow as the pack were running castle ball punching up the middle gaining ground on each phase with strong support play & counter rucking. From just outside the 22 Harlow through Barney stole the Hatfield ball at the lineout & drove the Maul back to about ten metres from the line, the ball came out of the maul on Hatfield side where they promptly managed to knock on due to Justin smothering their scrum half.

Auntie called Ray Ball & with our put secured & a drive from the pack, Rob Mathew (8) Broke Blind with Justin (9) & Auntie (7) in support where he side stepped the winger & passed to Justin who took on the Fullback & passed back to Rob who slid over the line. Half Time.

At Half time Harlow Fly half Mark Wedd was seconded to the 2^nd team who were short of an experienced Hooker ( Mr Versatile strikes again), So Rob Mathew went from 8 to 10 & Big Dan Mosley made a welcome return to the Pack after absence along with Darren (Doreen) & John stock also taking over at prop.

The game went a little bit askew as the Harlow side readjusted itself & were caught napping when from a quick tap & go the Hatfield scrum half passed out to the winger who cheekily stepped inside & ran through the pack to score under the Post (Con) Harlow 19 Hatfield 7

The game was settling down again when Hatfield made a sustained attack in the Harlow 22 & their number 8 crashed over from a couple meters to score round the back of the ruck Again Converted Harlow 19Hatfield 14.

Auntie Came off & was replaced by Barney who moved from Second row to flanker & Chris Came back on in the second row, Straight away the extra size & Chriss never give up attitude showed as aauntie was flagging at this point, Barney caused chaos at the set piece which would have made Swampy proud. Kevin also came off shortly afterwards not sure who replaced him but the hammer was now playing.

Harlow attacked with renewed aggression as the game was not won yet, Harlow made some good breaks when Rob Mathews broke past his opposite number & passed out to Gaggy (C) who went passed the Outside centre, winger on the dog leg & snake hipped (He told me to put that) himself past the fullback to score under the post, Converted by Crabby.

Special Mention to Backs & back row player who covered the park tackling anything that came near, which considering the age of the opposition was not hard.

The Whole pack who dominated the opposition especially Barney who although being lifted in the line out seemed to be the first at the breakdown.

The Hatfield No8 who when told by Auntie if he handled on the floor again he would be having a discussion with Aunties boot thought better leave it out now.

Danny for scaring the Hatfield backs by just running at them.

Hatfields no 10 who after being double team by Rob & Auntie asked why we were picking on him.

MOTM: Barney for stealing ball, Tackling , Geeing us all up & generally making himself a pain in the A**e to Hatfield.
