Harlow 4th XV 45 Shelford 4th XV 20 Green King Merit Table Saturday 27th November 2010
The Harlow 4th team confirmed their position of second in the table with another emphatic victory at Ram Gorse. Harlow opened the scoring, inside centre Neil McMullen broke through and crossed the line. The try was converted by fly half Paul Crabb, who kicked five out of seven conversions during the match. It was twenty minutes before the Rams scored the second try. Shelford defended well during that period but number 8 Rob Matthew got away to score. Crabb kicked the conversion. Shelford responded with a try and conversion and then a well struck penalty but a try from Harlow's outside centre Steve Gray duly converted gave the home side the lead at half time of twenty one points to twenty. In the second half the Rams continued to dominate. They scored four more tries with two conversions while Shelford grabbed their second try, converted and another penalty. Harlow's try scorers were Daryl Brooks, who had replaced Gray at outside centre, flanker and Skipper Jon Gagg and winger Lee Smith who scored the last two tries.
