New Playing Shirts to Commemorate our 50th Anniversary

As you may have heard we have managed to secure a sponsor to purchase a set of shirts for the 2nd XV, which is badly needed at the moment.

We have already looking at potential shirt designs for our 50th year we already had some designs that were being worked on.

We have considered returning to the Green and White hoops of 40 years ago but we have a couple of problems with this.

• Firstly two other clubs in our local area play in these colours Cheshunt and Basildon.

• Secondly many people have said and shown that White on rugby shirts ends up looking dirty and horrible.

As we want these shirts to be worn socially if we could keep away from white we could increase shirts sold as well as the knock on effect of people in the town wearing the Harlow Rugby Club Shirt.

We are keen to decide the direction for us to go ASAP however we could decide to buy a set of shirts now for the 2nd XV which may or may not go on to be our 50th Anniversary Shirts.

So Far Option 3 (Primarily Black) and Option 5 (Primarily Red) have come out as clear favourites (having shown these designs to many people who have been training recently.

We've been made aware that many teams in the area have been converting to black and it would be a new colour for the club. That said if we were to change our playing colours would we may approval from the RFU or Essex.
