Club - Extraordinary General Meeting
The RFU has issued advice to all Rugby Clubs recommending that each Club review its legal status and where appropriate take immediate action to limit its member’s personal liabilities by becoming a Limited Company and as such the Executive and Trustees have reviewed the advice and the various types of Limited Company formations and has decided to propose to the Members that the Club registers as an Industrial and Provident Society (ISP) using the model terms agreed between the RFU and the Financial Services Authority (FSA). It is our view that these terms are very supportive of a Community Based Rugby Club and fully support our CASC status which we would retain and could be implemented quickly and efficiently without the need for expensive legal advice.
The Executive will therefore bring forward a series of motions to formlise the Club into a Limited Company. In order that Members can be fully informed, a number of documents, including the motions, new constitution and RFU Guidance documents have been posted on the Club's website, in the Members section, in the Constitution folder. If the motions are defeated then an AGM will be called within 21 days, if accepted the AGM will take place on the first Thursday in September, gving the Current Executive adequate time to complete the application prior to the AGM. All Members over the age of 18 are entitled to attend the meeting. -

Rugby - Child Victims of Crime
Charity Day in Aid of "Child Victims of Crime" - Every year the Chair of Harlow Council selects a charity for which they raise funds during their year of office. This year Cllr Hall has chosen Child Victims of Crime as his charity. It is a charity sponsored by British Police Rugby and for this reason he asked Harlow RUFC as the local club to assist by staging a day of rugby We have a long history of raising money for various charities and were delighted to accept this invitation. Children can become victims of crime in many ways. In addition to those who are the person against whom a crime is committed others are traumatized as a result of serious crime affecting their relatives and friends or by witnessing a serious crime at close quarters. CVOC provides valuable help for them
We are putting on day of rugby featuring games by two of our youth teams, the under 13s and under 17s. These will be followed by curtain raiser games by players from our mini section culminating in a match between an CVOC Invitation side playing as CVOC Bulldogs and a Harlow President's XV. Some very good players and international referee Andrew Small have agreed to turn out for the invitation game so we are asking you to come along and support a great event for a deserving cause. -

Harlow ladies are holding a Silent Auction. Bid sheets will be displayed in the bar from the 2nd to the 9th of February. They are offering to provide a range of services and also have some valuable donated prizes. The idea is to find something you would like, fill in the bid sheet with your name and contact number; then make a bid for the item. Bidding must be in whole pounds! The first bid can be any price, but subsequent bids need to be higher than the last bid. When the Auction the Lots will be sold to the highest Bidder on the bid sheets!

Rugby - Essex Inter Counties Ladies
Harlow will Essex host an inter county ladies rugby tournament for the under 15 and under 18 age groups. County Teams competing will be: Essex, Eastern Counties, Herts, Leicestershire, Oxford, Middlesex. The first game will kick off at 10.00am and the competition will finish at about 3pm and the awards presentation will be at 3.30. The club expect well over 200 players and over 250 supporters including officers from the RFUW. The county sides taking part are drawn from some of the leading clubs in women’s rugby and so many future stars of the game will be taking part. Harlow Rugby Club are very proud to be invited to host this important competition. For many years we have had a strong senior ladies section at the club playing in the RFUW women’s league competition. We are keen to build a junior section to provide playing opportunities for local teenagers to play. In addition to being a great day for Harlow sports enthusiasts this event will allow local youngsters to see the ladies game at its best. Members of Harlow Ladies squad will be on hand during the day to answer questions and to meet local girls and ladies who are interested in playing rugby. Dave Sharp Harlow RUFC Press Officer will be on hand during the day to brief reporters and photographers from local papers who may be covering the event. -
