Harlow Ladies Promoted!

Harlow Ladies are celebrating their promotion to South East Div 2 of the  RFUW League. Although the came out run away winners of Eastern Div 3 last season, in women’s rugby promotion is not automatic, clubs have to satisfy the governing body that they have the strength and commitment to play at the higher level.  They have now passed that test and can look forward to some exciting and challenging rugby next season.

Harlow had six players in the Eastern Squad last season and three others playing in county sides and above at U19 and U16 level. It was essential the team achieved this promotion to ensure that these and all the other very talented players at Harlow had opposition which would really develop their game and allow them to reach their full potential. The club is keen to welcome potential new players into the squad whether they are beginners experienced players or perhaps players of other sports looking for a new challenge. A number of clubs in the surrounding area have started ladies teams which did not survive. Harlow Ladies have benefited from players who came to the club when rugby was no longer available in their location. Any other former players who have found themselves in a similar position would be assured of a very warm welcome.
