Harlow Rugby Club –
“Make a Diff ” Volunteer Weekend 13th/14th June. Harlow Rugby Club is a community club which has always
relied heavily upon it’s volunteer force to make a difference, whether it be
it’s large band of volunteer coaches or the volunteer administrators. This summer’s projects are many and varied and in no
particular order of importance. 1) “Sniff the Tarmac project” Repair the car park – the coldest winter for over 20 years
has seen large chunks of the car park suffering from potholes and erosion.
Through the generous offer of a local contractor members will be able to
re-fill & tarmac the damaged areas and therefore remove the need to arrive
at the club in a 4x4. 6 Volunteers + McGuckin
Bros 2) “Pitch in on the Pitches Project” Harlow Rugby Club provides the only rugby venue for the whole town and as a consequence the training pitches are in constant use often catering for schools during the day and junior and senior sections in the evening and throughout the weekends. Although subject to overuse the pitches can be recovered with some simple but cost effect remedial work in the summer. This will involve tilling,seeding and quarantine of the re-worked areas. 10 volunteers + water bowser + seed & fertiliser. 3) “Titchmarsh Project” Gardening detail – weed, strip & beautify around the
clubhouse. 6 volunteers – 2 petrol
strimmers + BYO tools. Deep clean showers & ablutions include replace tiles &
paint changing rooms where needed. 6 volunteers + tile &
paint Update & re-furbish the Bracewell Commemorative Wall All new team photos + any new archival history to be
added. 2 volunteers + A.Webb &
J.Lewis Entrance Porch & Bar-B-Q Shelter extension Paul Hayden & Sons Clean.repair and refurbish training kit rather than buy
new. 4 volunteers + Steam
Cleaner.
8) “Banish Listeria & Salmonella Project” Kitchen – Deep Clean,Service & re-decorate 6 volunteers 9) “ does what it says on the side of the tin” project

it don’t move paint it magnolia or varnish it the
choice is yours ! 6 volunteers. 10) “I have seen the light project” Floodlight re-furbish – this will involve the service and
replacement of lamps & luminaires. 2 volunteers + the services of Essex Electrical Ltd (
Peter King & Mick Aley ) + Scissor Lift Hire ( HSS club discount available
50% ). 11) “Anything we have missed project” ! 10 Volunteers. Total volunteers required
58 including 4 x projects managers |
