Harlow Rugby Club – “Make a Diff ” Volunteer Weekend 13th/14th June.

Harlow Rugby Club is a community club which has always relied heavily upon it’s volunteer force to make a difference, whether it be it’s large band of volunteer coaches or the volunteer administrators.

This summer’s projects are many and varied and in no particular order of importance.

1) “Sniff the Tarmac project”

Repair the car park – the coldest winter for over 20 years has seen large chunks of the car park suffering from potholes and erosion. Through the generous offer of a local contractor members will be able to re-fill & tarmac the damaged areas and therefore remove the need to arrive at the club in a 4x4.

6 Volunteers + McGuckin Bros

2) “Pitch in on the Pitches Project”

Harlow Rugby Club provides the only rugby venue for the whole town and as a consequence the training pitches are in constant use often catering for schools during the day and junior and senior sections in the evening and throughout the weekends. Although subject to overuse the pitches can be recovered with some simple but cost effect remedial work in the summer. This will involve tilling, seeding and quarantine of the re-worked areas.
