Harlow Colts 17   Braintree Colts  7

In a close game Harlow battled hard in the first half and had to defend against a well drilled Braintree side. Just before the interval a Braintree attack floundered and centre Dan Hockley pounced on the loose ball to run sixty metres and score . The conversion by Skipper Barney Goodey was successful giving Harlow a 7-0 lead at the break.

In the second half the end to end play continued but again it was the young Rams who scored. Fly half Goodey rounded off a very good performance with a try and conversion followed by a 40 metre penalty goal.

To their credit the visitors kept trying and were rewarded with a try and conversion in the last minute.

Enfield Ignatians Under 17’s  0  Harlow Under 17’s  61

In their best performance to date The Young Rams ran in eleven tries in appalling conditions on Sunday. With  the wind gusting fly half Danny Smith was reduced to only three conversions  and on a better day would have punished the home side even further.

Harlow took the lead early on and were 27 points clear at half time. Harlow had the majority of possession throughout and turned their possession into points. Skipper Sam Gregory lead the way with two tries as did  outside centre Jordan Cable and wing Chris Turner. There were also tries from hooker Max Davis-Gardner, lock Kieran Gleeson , flanker  Lenny Hayden,  winger Charlie Smith and number 8 Jack Palmer.

A great performance from the Young Rams..

Harlow started well dominating the early phases of the game & were first on the score sheet when David Brigganshaw ran through the Stortford defence fron inside his half way mark to score under the stortford posts  (Unconverted) , Great tackling from both sides as well as tactical kicking in weather that left no room for error made this match exciting for the home crowd & travelling supporters, Stortford scored next, Harlow defended well but stortford worked the overlap & scored Again unconverted, Shortly after Prop Terry Doyle made a pick up from the back of a ruck & beat 5 stortford defenders to score near the posts, & converted by Crafton (Cpt) Shortly before half time Stortford managed to take advantage of a penalty with a quick tap & go to crash ove rthe line & Convert the try.

Luton Under 14’s  24  Harlow Under 14’s  5

Harlow soon found themselves having to defend in this match against a well organised Luton side. The Harlow boys  tackled well to stay in the game but went 10-0 down before number 8 Dominic Lane scored their only  try. From a line out Lane crashed over to round off a well worked move. But the score was 12-5 to the home side at the interval.

The Junior Rams wee unable to beat the Luton defence again and the home side scored two more tries and added one conversion.

Harlow kept going to the end and Kurtis Knightley had another good game. We apologise to Kurtis for missing out his name as a try scorer last week  when  his team defeated Ignatians. It was his first try for the Club.

Harlow Under 13’s  19  Colchester Under 13’s  7

Harlow suffered an early set back when the visitors scored early in the first half but they responded well. The Junior Rams kept Colchester from adding to  their early success with sound defensive work. Although they trailed 0-7 at the interval they came back with three tries and a conversion , all their points coming in the second half.

The try scorers were Frazer Bleach, Tom Cunningham and Scott Whitby who were all making their debuts for Harlow. Other new players were Henry Massey and Dan Harvey. Whitby also put over two out of three converisons.

This was a good team performance by the newest Harlow youth Team who fully deserved their first win.
