Without their coach,
Fossie Brown , who was nursing his broken leg, sustained when playing for
the first XV, the young Colts side had a poor warm up before this match and
were punished for it. The home side hit them with two early tries and a
third just before half time to lead 19-0 at the interval. Harlow came back in the
second half and Man of the Match Ross King was instrumental in the come
back. It was number 8 James Clark who scored Harlow’s first try from broken
play and then flanker Ross KIng burst through for a second. Both tries were
converted by substitute fly half Terry Blackwell, Barney Goodey having to
retire in the first half through injury. Datchworth also scored
two more tries in the second half and wee deserved winners but this young
Harlow side deserve praise for their second half improvement. Harlow Colts. Carter,

Harlow u16’s 14 Rochford u16’s 39 The Young Rams started
this year’s campaign well at home to Rochford taking the lead after 15
minutes when prop Richard Patch took a quick tap penalty and breaking
through three tackles crashed over the line, the try converted by Skipper
Denzil Crafton. Two tries
from the visitors , both unconverted saw Rochford take the lead .Then Harlow
scored their second try, a superb run by fly half Briggenshaw finishing with
a try under the posts. Another conversion by Crafton gave Harlow the lead
but a third try by the visitors left the score at 14-17 at the interval. In the second half
Rochford brought on fresh players and the Young Rams began to tire. With
some harsh decisions by the
referee also going against them Harlow conceded another four tries but never
stopped trying.
Braintree u15’s 31 Harlow u15’s 12 The Junior Rams struggled
against a big, powerful pack of forwards at Braintree but managed to score
two tries in fairly even first half. Wing Lewis Pucill scored Harlow’s first
try in the corner and then flanker Shane Evans burst through to score close
to the posts. This try was converted by fly half Ryan Mathew. Braintree scored three
tries to lead 17 –12 at half time. The second half belonged to the home side
who had a large number of subs. From a big squad. They stretched the Harlow
three quarters as they ran in a further two tries without reply from the
Rams . A promising start for
Harlow who play Shelford at home next week. Harlow Under 15’s. Alden,

Braintreee u14’s 37 Harlow u14’s 5 This was a good result
for the Junior Rams who were beaten 50-0 by this team last season. The
Harlow boys played well in a first half when they were under pressure from a
well drilled set of backs. Braintree ran in four tries and converted one of
them by half time. In the second half Harlow
briefly rallied and managed to score a try , scrum half Andre Riddell the
try scorer., following a break by second row Matthew Smith before passing to
Riddell , who almost made the line. But it was the home side
who grew stronger as the game progressed and scored twice more to win .
Harlow can take heart from this gritty performance. Harlow Under 14’s.

side match, the Junior Rams did well against a very experienced Barnet side.
They also had three boys making their debut for Harlow , Mitchell Sinfild,
Brandon Lang and Lewis Conbrough and all three acquitted themselves well. Harlow kept going against
the visitors who ran up a 26-0 lead at half time. The Junior Rams managed to
score a try in the second half and the try scorer was Sinfield who was
playing at inside centre. Despite their defeat the
Harlow boys played well and showed promise for the future. Harlow Under 13’s.
