Harpenden Colts 34 Harlow Colts 0 National Colts Cup. 1st Round. The Young Rams inexperienced side came up against a well organised Harpenden team who were too strong for them. They started well but
soon found themselves behind to an unconverted try and a penalty goal. With
the score at 8-0 Harlow rallied and had a good spell for twenty minutes.
Inside centre Dan Hockley came close to scoring twice but it was the home
side who scored a second try before the interval to lead 15-0.. New boy Lewis Buchner
played well and hooker James Lewis had a very good game but the Young Rams
began to tire and in the second half Harpenden underlined their authority.
They scored another three tries with two of them converted and go through to
the next round.

10. The Junior Rams were outplayed by a well organised team whose three quarters were good at handling and passing and ran in a number of tries. To their credit the Harlow boys never stopped trying and scored two tries themselves despite spending much of the game defending. It was flanker Shane Evans who scored first for Harlow but the home side lead 25-5 at the interval. With three new boys in the side it will be some time before the Harlow team gell together and they spent the second half defending again. Second row Jack Perry gave them hope with his try near the end but it was not enough. Harlow Under 15’s. 10. IT is a measure of the improvement in the team and testimony to the coaching of Peter Claridge that Harlow trounced the visitors who beat them 35-5 last season. Harlow had to work hard to take a first half lead with tries from full back Matt Norris and Jack Boswell-Banks both of which were converted by Norris. The visitors replied with a try of their own. leaving the Junior Rams with a half time lead pf 14-5. After a ten minute period., which saw both sides come close to scoring, a three try burst from Harlow in five minuets put the result beyond doubt. Scrum half Andre Riddell, number 8 Dominic Lane and centre Josh Davies were the try scorers and with two conversions Harlow were out of reach. Ignatians broke away to score their second try but In the last few minutes Harlow scored twice more,. Norris scored his second try which he converted and winger Rees Nelson ended the match with his try. A good all round performance from the Junior Rams. Harlow Under 14’s.
