Westcliff Colts 5 Harlow Colts 63 The Young Rams were comprehensively beaten by a very strong and organised Westcliff side whose three quarters were far too accomplished for the Harlow defence. With Skipper Barney Goodey out for six weeks with a shoulder injury and two other first choice centres unavailable Harlow had to play several players out of position and were punished for it. After three minutes the visitors took the lead with a converted try. Harlow hit back , their pack driving over the line and second row Tom Mintoff touching down. However before very long Westcliff scored again and further tries gave them a lead of 38-5 at the interval. The Young Rams kept
working in the second half, their forwards battling well and winning a fair
share of possession but Westcliff continued to score tries through their
three quarters and were worthy winners.

was evenly matched, however superior handling skills, great off loading &
support play showed as west cliff went in front & stayed there for the rest
off the match, Harlow defended with tackling around the body which enabled
Westcliff to pass the ball in the tackle & there fore they could spread it
wide & use the over lap to score.

Westcliff Under 14’s
43. The Junior Rams were unlucky to be drawn against one of the best sides in Essex in the first round and found the visitors too good for them. The Harlow forwards scrapped for possession throughout and won some good ball but Westcliff moved the ball wide at every opportunity to their speedy wingers who did the damage. Several Harlow three quarters were injured or unavailable and the tries came through the centre and on the wings. Still in the game at half time with the score 0-15 Harlow had a Zac Chamnaouie try disallowed and then conceded four more tries in the second half , all of which were converted. Despite being outclassed the Junior Rams kept trying until the end.
