Harlow Colts 0 Woodford Colts 27 The Young Rams topsy-turvey season
continued on Sunday with another defeat following their previous Sunday’s
win against Sudbury. Their opponents , Woodford, had the power and pace
in their backs
to expose the Harlow boys’ weakness as they are
still
playing without several first choice three quarters.
Under 17 Danny Smith, playing at outside centre, made his Colts debut and
performed well but had little opportunity to show his attacking skills.
Fly half Dan Hockley came closest to scoring
for Harlow but was stopped inches short of the line.Woodford
built up a commanding lead by the interval
scoring four tries and one conversion in the
first half. The Young Rams defended far better in the second period and
restricted the visitors to one unconverted try. With two specialist backs
returning for next week’s game at Upper Clapton the Young Rams should be
able to play their normal style of running rugby Harlow Colts. Carter,(Capt.), Mortimer, Cunningham, Lewis, Ansell, Rodrigues-Haribo, Ashcroft, Mintoff, Blackwell, Hockley, Alderman, Smith, Heeney, Drake, Perry, Dagleish, King, Potter, Buckner, O’Donnell.

Harlow Under 14’s 29 Sudbury Under 14’s 0 The Junior Rams were delighted with
their performance against Sudbury who had beaten
them twice last season.
The Harlow pack were at the forefront of this
tussle and outplayed the visitors. Four of the five tries came from Harlow’s attacking play
in the form of rucks and mauls with the first by Jack Boswell- Banks who
crashed over from twenty metres. The try was converted by
Kurtis
Knightley. The Junior Rams extended their lead
when skipper Zac Chamnaouie scored. The prop, leading by example, drove
forward from a scrummage and when stopped the ball was recycled, returned to
him
and he forced his way over the try line. Another
conversion by Knightley gave Harlow a 14-0 lead at half time. Flanker Matt Smith continued the scoring with a try
following another scrummage and he scored in the corner. Scrumhalf Andre
Riddell then peeled off a maul to cross the line and finally the Harlow
backs came into the game. Josh Davies scored , the outside centre rounding
of a good backs move,. This was a good result for the
Junior Rams against one of the better sides in
the Eastern Counties,. Harlow Under 14’s. Chamnaouie
