Harlow Ladies Rugby Report 2004

Harlow Ladies Team 2003/04 achieved an amazing first league season. Finishing third in the Eastern Div 2 League, travelling to teams from all over the east of the country. Many of whom have been together longer than Harlow and also leading us to achieve our first 15 aside match.

Captained by an eastern counties representative, the ladies played with team spirit, a love for the game and willingness to learn. Which was apparent throughout the entire competition.  

Paired with the Norfolk 10-a-side tournament, the ladies kicked off a fantastic themed tour. The first night dressing in glam rock and venturing back to the West Norfolk rugby club, the second night dressing in full military outfit and storming the streets of Norfolk. Resulting in a trophy for the most entertaining team.

The Norfolk 10-a-side tournament proved Harlow Ladies abilities as a team, loosing to teams only in national leagues.

With the season coming to a close, the Harlow Ladies have displayed a superb will to win and commit as a team. Making their mark on the ladies rugby scene and showing that Harlow Ladies are here to stay.

To further improve the ladies team we need a slightly larger squad. If you want to be part of a team with the will to win, get in touch now. Anyone can play and it is a good way to get fit!
A number of ladies new to rugby are already training and learning the game. We also know that a number of local clubs have started ladies teams which have subsequently folded. If you have been left out in the cold by a team closure, you will find a warm welcome at Harlow with good coaching and plenty of chances to play.
