Harlow Ladies Win the League! Harlow Ladies 54 Millwall Ladies 0. Harlow’s Ladies celebrated their success of winning the Eastern Counties League 3 with a resounding defeat of Millwall in a friendly match at Ram Gorse. Harlow were due to play Southwold in their last league game of the season and only had to play the game to be announced winners of their league. On Tuesday Southwold cried off being unable to get a side out and gallant Millwall stepped in to give the Harlow Ladies their chance to show how they have won this league in front of their ecstatic supporters. The Rams went ahead soon after the kick off Sarah Stimpson’s pace proving too much for the Millwall defence. Sarah converted her first try , scored a second just before the interval and a third in the second half for her hat-trick. Harlow’s inside centre Sarah Wooton and scrum half Nicky King also scored tries in the first half giving Harlow a 22-0 lead at half time. The second half was much of the same. Harlow dominated possession and released their speedy backs at every opportunity. King scored her second try before Keighley Diprose, fly half, scored her try. Second row Rebecca Conway then scored crashing over the line followed by a great run from wing Nicky Millman who scored and then converted the try. Prop Kerry Cope won the ball in a maul at the half way line and sprinted over the line to score before Stimpson completed her hat trick. Millwall came close to scoring on several occasions in the second half but the Harlow defence held firm and the ladies kept a clean sheet. A great win for the ladies who go on tour next weekend.(for tour details ask Alice Gladden 01279 450978. Harlow Ladies.
