Ladies Celebrate a Great Season with West Country Tour.

Ladies rugby is still a relatively new sport but many ladies teams, Harlow among them, have shown that they have mastered all the traditional skills from the men’s game, ferocious tacking, hard rucking and very slick ball handling. There is however another tradition they have taken on board, the rugby tour and this weekend Harlow Ladies invaded that hotbed of rugby the West Country for their end of season tour. A good tour is a chance to socialize, let you hair down, do slightly sill things and between times fit in a bit of rugby, Harlow Ladies got it just right.

They stayed in Bude and just spent the first evening locally. On Friday dressed as farmers they spent the day at a Farm called the Big Sheep in Bideford where they played Laser games (like paint balling without the pain!), fed and held lambs, went on a tractor ride, sampled the beer from the brewery.

Back to reality, they went to Bideford Rugby Club where we played their Ladies team who are in South West Div 2. They lost that game 22-10 but had a couple of key players missing and it was a very good game. They spent the evening with Bideford Ladies and learnt some new songs which will no doubt be heard in Harlow in the future

On Saturday morning they went to Wideford beach with an outdoor activity centre and spent the morning learning to surf - harder work getting the wet suits on than actually surfing! Following that Tracey Lee’s mother showed courage beyond the call of duty entertaining a whole rugby tour to lunch. It was then on to Bude rugby club to watch their first team game against Yeovil spending the evening with Bude's first team.

On Sunday dressed as Vikings they went to North Tawton where we played TNT Ladies and won 20-12. spending the afternoon with them before returning to Harlow.

Rugby touring is about making friends and all of the teams met have been invited to come to Harlow.
