I first went to Harlow Rugby Club when my Son Aaron started playing rugby in the Minis Section. Whilst there one Sunday I saw a group of Women about to play rugby: I stayed to watch and became totally hooked. I am a 1st Kyu in Judo so contact sports were not a problem! I spoke to Captain Kelly, borrowed her boots, and started playing! After my first season (2004/5) I won the Most Improved Player of the Year award. The following year I won the Managers Player of the Year award and also represented Essex at County level and East at Regional level. I have played a couple of times for the Boudiccas (an invitational touring side) in the Stockholm 10s tournament and in 2009 I captained the Essex squad. I am regularly organising fundraising, tours and social events for Harlow Ladies which has resulted in becoming Manager and Captain of the Ladies Squad.. but only as long as this does not interfere with my other important duty - first aiding the 4th Team Boys!
