Mini & Junior Open Day Open Day

This Sunday, 15th July 2007  Harlow Rugby Club are holding an open day for children, both boys and girls, who will aged between six and twelve by September. There will be a chance to join in with the existing members in a range of rugby oriented activities. .To take part you do not need any experience, coaching will be provided and all the activities have been chosen to be suitable those new to the game. The sessions will be supervised by the club’s RFU qualified coaches and senior club members will also be on hand to explain to parents what the club has to offer to their children.

  • The session is from 12 till 4pm at the club ground on Elizabeth Way.

  • By arriving between 11 and 12 you be able to see the existing mini squads training and get a feel for what the game is about.

  • Children talking part should wear shorts and a sports top and trainers.

  • If it is a cold day tracksuit or other warm clothing would be a good idea

  • And if it is wet then those who have football/rugby boots should bring them.

  • Old clothes which they do not mid getting dirty are preferable.

All children attending must be accompanied by a parent who can give permission for them to join in the activities. The aim is for children to find out if it is a game they would enjoy. Those who do join in could be playing for Harlow in the coming season; maybe following the example of Jamie Marshall who originally only came to the club to watch her brother play. She was however persuaded to join in and at her debut in  the Chingford Mini Rugby Festival scored her first try for the club. Needless to say she is now a mini rugby enthusiast.
