30 January Many of you sent in formal objections last year to the Council making Our Ground A Green Wedge which would prevent us developing it in some ways which are necessary for the success of rugby. You should in the last week or so have received a reply from the Council to your objection. Please keep this letter safely. We all need to respond saying that we still object and want to present our views to a public enquiry. I will be sending out a briefing document in the next week giving details of how you should respond. The deadline is the 26th of Feb and we will suggest ways to coordinate out objections for the maximum impact. If other members of your family or your friends also sent in objection please pass on this message. Dave

Under 13's Update - They played their first game of the season on Sunday, away to Enfield Ignatians.  They won 26-0, scoring four tries and three conversions.

The backs played a very direct running game and were frequently able to open up their opponents defence with clever and decisive breaks as well as sharp passing. The pack matched their Enfield counterparts well and were able to protect their own scrum and line-out ball well.  Additionally, their work in the ruck and maul was first class.   Generally, the support play of the team was crucial in this victory.  Harlow scored four excellent, well-worked tries through Lee Hughes, Hayden Barrick (2) and John Smith.  Three of these tries were converted by John Smith, despite the difficult weather conditions. All in all, a very determined and positive performance from Harlow Under 13's which will act a great confidence boost to the team.  I'm sure that widespread promotion of this result will act as a great filip to the team.
Team:- P. Burns,  J. Heeney, J. Smith, L. Hughes, M .Paige, M. Ellis, C.Potter, S. Ansell, H. Barrick, J. Collins, R. Norris, S. McIntyre.

10 January 1st XV lose to Bishops Stortford 32-0 Stortford probably deserved the win but we made it too easy for them with a very high penalty count. The ref was very strict on rucking infringements and it took us far too long to accept the fact and get our act together. Other results from the weekend are: Bishop's Stortford 32 - 0 Harlow; Canterbury 60 - 8 Camberley; London Nigerian 0 - 28 Havant; Old Albanians;  19 - 22 Sutton & Epsom; Staines 30 - 26 Thanet Wanderers; Worthing 3 - 13 Hertford

1st XV lose to Hertford 46-0 Hertford deserved the win, the speed and better running angles from their backs being decisive. Harlow to their credit fought hard and were held up on the Hertford line on several occasions but could not get the ball down. Wayne Morgan saved at least two additional scores with crashing tackles, so good to see someone who tackles hard and LOW.  Next week we are at Stortford, they will be keen to avenge their defeat at Ram Gorse, lets have some support there and see if we can spoil their weekend yet again.

2nd XV lose in the cup to Thurrock 66-0.  Colts lose to Westcliff 15-10 in the Quarter Final of the Essex Cup.

5 January Other League Results: Camberley 3 Old Albanians 34: Havant 34 Bishop's Stortford 12: Sutton & Epsom 35 Staines 5: Thanet Wanderers 23 London Nigerians 15: Worthing 11 Canterbury 7.
