28 June - Rugby News- Election of Captains As training is now in full swing every Tuesday & Thursday at 7:15 we now need to formalise the election of the captains for the coming season. Do do this we will be having a players meeting on Thursday 7th July at 9pm (after training.) Update In the other pools Flying Flamingo's won group two, Motley Saints group 3 and the Ladies team "Luscious" won group four. Pictures of the day will follow from Colin Odell in due course. Thank you to our sponsors, Mick Ellis (Trophies), Asda, McDonalds, Tesco and Wilkinsons. The Spooner Fund has benefited to the tune of £1000 as the result of the tournament. 23 June - Move - New Town Plan on Display The new Town Plan goes on display for public consultation for six weeks starting today. It proposes to make our ground Green Belt land. If that happens not only will seriously set back our plans for a move it will also impose tougher restrictions on what we can do on our present site. To view the report Click here The Council have ignored the views of two Government planning inspectors and we need to convince the inspectors at any future inquiries that their colleagues were right. That means ALL club members and friends filling in forms to submit formal objections to the Council plan. We will be making a briefing sheet available on how to object and advice will be available. Please watch this space and act promptly when asked. It is a very simple process. |

23 June - Club News - 6 a-side Update Week 5 of the
tournament was played last night and the positions for Finals Day (25 June)
are now completed. Although the Flying Flamingos just missed out on place in
the top group after losing to Team - James Hayden we will have a very
close run thing for the title with not a lot to choose between the top four

Wednesday, 22 June at 7.15pm. There are still places and pride to be played

The Spooner Dinner There are still tickets available for the Spooner Dinner on this Saturday 18th June. All proceeds go to the Spooner Fund for Junior Rugby, a great cause which deserves maximum support. Tickets are £20 per head; there is a four course meal and excellent after dinner entertainment. It starts at 7.30 for 8.00.p.m. If you you are not already committed and can support the Club and especially the Spooner fund please contact Chris Locke on 01279 428975. 6 June - Club News - Move Update Harlow Council confirmed on Friday that they will put the revised Town Plan on display for public scrutiny from the 20th June onwards. We need to make sure that as many members as possible put in formal objections. Last time we go 150+ in and we need to do as well again. Dave Sharp needs 8 or 10 volunteers to be briefed on how to complete the form so they can offer help to other members. If you have not offered to help please email him now. To e-mail him Click here |

2 June - Club News - Lions Games This Saturday the club will be open from 7.30 am for members to watch the game v Bay of Plenty (KO 8.10). Arrangements are being made to serve cooked breakfasts for those who are worried that they might be too fit to play next season.
