This weeks results include:

1st XV lose 54-23 at home to Staines

Once again it was finishing which let us down We had lots of scoring opportunities playing within the opposition 5 metre line but could not get across it. If you look at the results of the other games so far this season there are no clear leaders emerging It is all very much A beats B, B beats C but then C beats A.  If we were back at full strength then on the overall performance so far there is no side that is beyond our reach.  We must tighten up our handling, on Saturday we wasted two certain tries putting the last pass on to the ground. Good news however was a great kicking performance from Fozzie Brown including conversion from both left and right corners. If we had kicked as well last season we would have finished in mid table. We can turn things around but must do so soon before the gap above us gets any bigger.

2nd XV lose 74-0 away at Bishops Stortford

Saints win 63-3 at home to Newmarket:

A good display of running rugby saw the saints run in 9 tries, 6 of them converted. despite conceding an early penalty, Harlow were raring to start the new campaign in style following a below par performance against local rival's Bishops Stortford. the tries came at regular intervals throughout the game with excellent communication between backs and forwards where team play proved its usefulness and running rugby, which is synonymous with the saints prevailed. Newmarket never gave in but the constant pressure eventually took its toll.

Team: g.last, s.boswell, d.smale, k.knee, c.shawyer, c.guyton, p.hughes, s.burroughs, p.keeling, e.harries(capt), a.kent, h.keeling, b.buster, l.howell, d.bedford, f.lloyd, m.rogers, p.twilly

Sinners lose 34-10 to Barnet 3rds

There is a lot of discussion in the club about the policy of charging for admission to the club to watch World Cup games. Some members are saying that it is wrong to have to pay for admission to their club. What are your Views? Join in the discussion here - join here. In particular it may be helpful if you cover the following cases.

1. Games which take place when the club would be open in any case.

2. Games where we have to open specially at a time we would normally be closed.

3. For Games where we provide food what should be the case for members who want to watch the match but do not want food.

4. The admission of non-members.

If you have a password for the club members pages on the web site there is already a discussion underway on this topic. To get a password club members should click this link webmaster@harlow-rugby.co.uk giving your full name, your email address and a suggested password of 6 to 10 letters.

6 October 2003

This weeks results include: 1st XV lose 29-13 at away to Old Albanians, In terms of territory we came out on top, we can get into the opposition 22 but we still can't break down a solid defence. A couple of older (and heavier) streetwise players who can really break tackles and take players out would solve the problems for what is basically a very promising young side.2nd XV lose 76-5 at away to Cambridge. Sinners win away 7-22 at Old Tottonians.
