Tracey Lee wins day with England Squad It is all happening for Tracey Lee of Harlow Rugby Club Ladies squad. No sooner does she get back from playing for Eastern Counties in the Stockholm 10s than she discovers she has won a BBC sponsored competition. For her the prize is perfect, she will go to lunch with the England Ladies team at their Lougborough training base on Wed 16th August and afterwards attend a training session with them. The England squad are currently training at their base in Loughborough preparing for the World Cup in Canada so Tracey should pick up some good ideas to bring back for the Harlow squad
The BBC competition rules said “Write in no more than 50 words why the BBC Sport should choose you. You need to ideally be a rugby player and have passion for the sport. The entry should be something different in order to make you stand out!”
For her entry Tracey wrote a limerick which won her the prize
There once was a girl called Tracey Lee Who loves to watch and play rugby "I can play lock or prop and run till I drop So come on England please pick me!"
Tracey says “For someone like me who loves her rugby this is brilliant.. Although I had played other sports I had absolutely no experience of rugby until I came to Harlow Rugby Club. It’s great, I wish I had discovered it years ago, I would urge any other women looking for a new sport to come along and give it a try.”
