6 A Side

Over one hundred and sixty rugby enthusiasts of both sexes and all ages/abilities take to the field at Harlow RFC’s Ram Gorse grounds on Saturday 23 June at 2pm to compete in the annual Ken Spooner Six-a Side tournament finals

The tournament has been running for several years in memory of the late Ken Spooner, a former Youth Chairman at the rugby club.  Ken worked tirelessly to assist youngsters participate in and enjoy rugby and all profits from the tournament are channelled into supporting the Youth Section of the club.  In the past, monies raised have gone towards funding things such as training lights, equipment and coaching specifically for the younger club members.

The preliminary rounds of the tournament have been taking place since mid-May and several teams are in a strong position to walk off with the trophy on Saturday.  It promises to be an exciting afternoon with a bar and raffle supporting the event.
