Harlow Rugby Club Presents

A Charity Day of Rugby in Aid of

Sunday 26th April 2009

Every year the Chair of Harlow Council selects a charity for which they raise funds during their year of office. This year Cllr. Tony Hall has chosen Child Victims of Crime as his charity. It is a charity sponsored by British Police Rugby and so he asked Harlow RUFC as the local club to assist by staging a charity day of rugby.

Rugby entertainment will be provided all day by Harlow Youth and Mini teams culminating in a match between a CVOC Invitation side, the CVOC Bulldogs and a Harlow President’s XV. The Harlow Club has a long history of raising money for various charities and is delighted to stage this event.

For the Presidents XV there are a number of guest players from senior clubs including players with Harlow connections who moved to play at higher levels who are returning for this event. Among them is Steven Pope whose C.V. includes Swansea, Blackheath and Barbarians, Rhys Powell, (Southend, Blackheath) and Adam Bishop (Loughborough University). The CVOC side includes a number of players who have represented British Police and leading club and county players.
