It is no wonder that when his sweet loving father (Chris) found out he wasn't sponsored he commented: "Having seen James's player profile I'm rather disturbed to see that he doe's not have a sponsor listed! what the hell have Sue and I been doing since he started playing at Harlow aged 12 match fees, membership, buying new gum shields coz he left he's at home, transport to both club and Essex fixtures, purchase of non alcoholic post match drinks, providing plasters, tape, etc, to ensure that most parts of he's body protected even before it gets injured! interest free loans an a non repayment basis, the latest fashion item to wear both on and off the pitch and of course not forgetting laundering of playing / training kit at short notice coz it was left in the kit bag. not bad for someone who does not have a Sponsor!!"
