Harlow Rugby Club men’s teams produced a clean sweep on
Saturday with all three winning. The 1st XV won their league match
against Wymondham 36 – 32 (see
match report). The Rams (Harlow 2nd team) had an equally hard
contest beating Eton Manor seconds in the Essex Merit Table Div II by 14
points to 12. Harlow Saints (the 3rd team) Won their Greene King Merit
table encounter v Newmarket Development squad 34 points to 5.

Harlow started of badly giving Eton Manor two tries within ten minutes
one converted. It was a physical game for Harlow to which they responded
well. Harlow first try from a great backs move, finished by Chris Webb.
Ryan McGlone converted. Harlow had two penalties before the break but
both missed.
Half Time Harlow 7 Eton Manor 12
Harlow started the second half of well having most of the possession in
Eton Manor’s half. With 20 mins to play Eton Manor were awarded a
penalty which they opted to kick but they missed. Harlow took the lead
following a great interception pass from which Chris Bates went over the
line for a Harlow try. Ryan McGlone converted to put Harlow in the lead.

An outstanding performance from Chris Bates which was also his last game
before he moves to Australia

Greene King Merit Table Premier Division
After a poor performance last week against the renegades with many key
players missing, the saints bounced back to old ways this week with a
much improved tackling performance and all round positive attacking
game.
