Ken Spooner Fund

The Spooner Fund was founded in memory of Ken Spooner fondly referred to as "Daddy Spoons". Ken was involved in all aspects of the club for many years particularly our Junior Section.

The fund was set up after Ken's death to continue the work that he began. The cornerstone of fundraising is the annual Spooner Draw that takes place in December prior to Christmas each year.

The Fund is used to support areas in Youth Development that are outside the normal remit of Club funding.

In recent years the Fund has been able to support requests for the following deserving causes:-

Hardship, Training Lights, Development Bursaries and Coaching.

The Christmas/New Year Raffle 2004/05 was drawn on Saturday 29th January 2005 and raised £772 for the Spooner fund. Lucky old git Alan Price senior won two tickets for England -v- Scotland. Shame he's Welsh -

The 2003 Spooner Prize Draw Results:

A big thank you to John Harron and the Spooner Committee for the great job in organising this years Spooner Draw. John Harron reports that the total receipts for the Spooner Draw were £2556.
