Harlow RUFC Tour - Benidorm

Thursday 21st/Friday 22nd to Monday 25th May 2009

There is going to be a senior rugby tour this year that will comprise of going to Benidorm in Spain on either Thursday 21st May or Friday 22nd May until Monday 25th May 2009. The tour is being organised to co-inside with the annual 7’s tournament that is played at Villajoyosa Rugby Club, This is a prestigious tournament that is now entering its 22nd year. We will be looking to enter a 7 a side team that will largely comprise of first team members and we hope this team would be very competitive judging by what we have heard from people who regularly go to view this tournament. We are hoping to take a playing squad of around 15 players that would largely consist of first team members, but we would also like around another 30 people to support the players and maybe enjoy a drink in the sun.

What's involved?

We are looking to organise everything for touring members which will consist of Flights, Transfers, Accommodation and insurance. We also want to organise some kit for this tour that would consist of one playing rugby shirt for everybody, playing shorts for playing members (and anybody else who request) and a polo shirt, all the kit we have priced for so far is quality kit from Kukri.

Who can go?

This tour is open to all paid up male members over the age of 18.

Sponsorship wanted..

The sponsorship we are looking a for is for our kit, the first option is for anybody who wants to sponsor all the kit, this would be welcomed with open arms. The other option’s are if you would like to sponsor our playing shirts the cost would come in at around £1500. Or possibly our playing shorts, the cost would be in the region of £400. Or we would also be looking for sponsorship for our polo shirts which would cost £1000.  

For your money you would get your name/company name placed on the kit you have sponsored and you will also get a place on the tour. We will be looking for everybody wanting to go on the tour to help organise or at least take part in some form of fundraising for the tour as any money raised will go towards lowering the cost for everybody on the tour.

How much?

We need a £50 deposit off of people by Saturday 1st November so that we know numbers and we can then start to book things up. You can drop the money down at the club as long as they tell whoever is at the bar its for Benidorm tour and leave it in an envelope with their name. We are hoping to get the final cost down to somewhere around £220-£250 after we have done some fundraising and enquired about some sponsorship with some of our successful local business men and women.

On another note this tour will also be doubling as Stuart Wilkins (1st XV Hooker) Stag trip so he would very much like as many people to come and try and stitch him up as possible, those of you that know him will probably enjoy this opportunity.
