Town Plan The Government Planning Inspector has now produced his report on the proposed new version of the Town Plan. You will be pleased to hear that his proposals reject the attempt by Harlow Council to designate our ground a Green Wedge. He has also included a number of proposals which would be helpful to us in our campaign to move to a bigger and better facility. These proposals follow closely views put forward by the club in writing any by members who appeared at the public enquiry. This is very good news for the club BUT any plan for the club to move will still have to go through all the usual planning and similar hurdles. The club is seeking professional advice on the full implications of the inspectors report which is a large and complex document. We will report to members when we have more information. Had the inspector supported to original proposals in the plan it would have seriously limited our options to provide an improved rugby facility. His recommendations keep a number of important doors open. it is good news but there is still a long way to go.
Many thanks to all those members who put in formal objections to the proposals, you views played a major part in the outcome. |
