Harlow Rugby Club Youth Round Up Sunday 9th October 2005. Westcliffians Colts 22 Harlow Colts 24. Harlow made it four wins out of five so far when they put in a storming second half to snatch victory. They gave a lack lustre performance in the first half and at the interval the score was 7-17, Harlow’s only success a Charlie Kavanagh try. The outside centre sold three dummies on his way over the line and Wayne Heapy made no mistake with the conversion. In the second half they fell further behind to an unconverted try but then began to play excellent rugby. Dominating the possession and starving Westcliff of the ball they passed the ball with skill and speed and kept the home side pinned in their own twenty two. Inevitably they scored when from a ruck prop Lewis Emery crashed over. Further pressure saw the ball go loose near the Westcliff line and flanker Ross Delgreco fought his way over the line. With only one score in it the match was theirs for the taking and following a disallowed try by fly half Jake Kent-Pope Harlow spent ten minutes on the Westcliff goal line. It was flanker James Hayden who touched down the vital try and Heapy who converted it to earn the Young Rams a well deserved victory. Harlow Colts. An Aled Hills penalty put them in the lead but Clapton replied with four tries before Harlow could add to their score. Eventually Skipper Ian Adams seized on a loose ball at a line out and crashed over, Hills successful with the conversion. Harlow then spun the ball wide and centre Shane McNamara rounded off a three quarters move to score his first try for the Club. In the second half injuries to Jarvis and McNamara exposed Harlow even more indefence and Clapton scored another two tries to run out worthy winners. Harlow Under 17’s. Nevertheless they fought hard in this match and salvaged two tries , one in each half It was Dan Hockley playing at fly half who scored in the first half and his try was converted by Jamie Clark, leaving the score 7-27 at Half time.
