Harlow Rugby Club Youth Round Up. 4th April 2004. Harlow Colts 10 Brentwood Colts 16. Despite a great fight back in the second half the Young Rams were unable to clinch this close game at Ram Gorse. Brentwood, with seven Essex Colts in their side had the upper hand during the first half. Harlow’s Martin O’Dell was successful with a penalty but the home side let in two unconverted tries and two penalties to trail 3-16 at half time. The second half was all Harlow as the Young Rams pushed forward and Brentwood gave away a large number of penalties in keeping them out. The home side crossed the line when Danny Lane crashed over from a tap penalty but the referee ruled that the ball was not grounded. Eventually the constant pressure paid off and Harlow were awarded a penalty try when O’Dell was fouled as he crossed the line. His conversion put Harlow in with a chance but it was too late and the Young Rams had to accept defeat. Harlow Colts.
